Sara Simmons
Sara Simmons is a visionary entrepreneur and seasoned HR executive whose journey bridges creativity and corporate leadership. With a BFA in Fashion Design from The International Academy of Design & Technology Chicago and an MBA in International Business from the American InterContinental University London (now Regent’s), Sara merges a deep understanding of design with a strategic lens for business growth.

For nearly two decades, she’s helped scale startups, from scrappy, bootstrapped teams to high-growth global organizations backed by venture capital and private equity. As an HR executive, she’s led organizations through explosive growth, scaling headcount from 25 to 600+ while shaping cultures of excellence and innovation.
Yet, despite her success across industries, Sara saw a glaring gap in a world she never forgot: fashion. Specifically, the stagnant and underserved plus-size swimwear market. After relocating from Chicago to Florida, where swimwear is a lifestyle staple, she found herself frustrated by the limited, uninspired options available to plus-size women.
That frustration turned into purpose.
In founding Sera Swimwear, Sara set out to create a brand that respects the plus-size consumer, celebrating her body, honoring her taste, and meeting her with the standard of excellence she deserves. Today, while continuing to serve as an executive in a cutting-edge music tech company, Sara channels her passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment into shaping the future of luxury fashion for plus-size women.

Lane Timian
Lane brings over 15 years of experience building, launching, and scaling brands across swim, lifestyle, and technical apparel categories. She has helped shape the growth of globally recognized names, including Vitamin A, Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade New York, Coach, and others, leading brand, marketing, licensing, and go-to-market efforts designed to drive both cultural relevance and commercial success.
Lane is passionate about building brands with purpose, those that stand for something, connect deeply with their audience, and challenge the status quo. At Sera Swimwear, she brings that same energy to defining the brand’s foundation, consumer connection, and path to market, supporting a new standard in plus-size luxury swimwear, one built on confidence, quality, and experience.
